FERS Made Easy is an independent, free education site for federal employees covered by the Federal Employees Retirement System. We explain FERS rules in plain English, build free calculators, and point every fact back to an official source.

Who runs this site

The site is privately owned and run by two partners and written by the FERS Made Easy editorial team. Every fact is cited to an official source (see our editorial policy).

Why we built it

FERS rules are spread across OPM pages, regulations and handbooks. Many federal employees make costly mistakes, like counting sick leave toward eligibility, taking MRA+10 without comparing postponement, or dropping FEHB before retiring. We want every federal employee to be able to check their own numbers for free.

How we make money

The site is free to use.
